Immediately after graduating from college, I married my fantastic husband and moved to St. Louis “temporarily”. I was an elementary school teacher by trade, with an emphasis in Language Arts and Biblical Studies, and shortly thereafter, I took early retirement to become a stay-at-home mom.
Life was wonderfully chaotic living in our small ranch home with our 2 dogs and 4 kids ages 6 and younger, and I enjoyed the challenges of running a children’s ministry for a church plant in west county. But it was the birth of our daughter and desire to give our 3 boys room to run, (and the inability to pass one another in the hallway without first side-stepping into the bathroom doorway), that caused us to give up the 11-year search for jobs near family in Chicago and purchase a new home in O’Fallon/St. Peters.
Thankfully, we found StoneBridge Community Church 2 years later, and our family is proud to call SBCC home for over 5 years. I loved the way SBCC embraces everyone and wants to love them where they are and show God’s love to them. I have enjoyed being involved in Women’s Ministry, MOPS, and attending Bible studies and small groups. As Director of Children’s Ministry, I look forward to showing our youngest church members who God is, how He loves them all, and to equip them to share His love and be a positive influence to everyone in their circles of influence.
(Sheri and Travis Ferris have been married for over 15 years. Their older 2 boys can be seen attending Jr. High youth events or mentoring in our Kid Zone, while the younger 2 enjoy saving up Stonebucks to spend at our Kid Zone store.)
